Bernice Allegretti joined IMPACT Group in 2017 and provides career coaching assistance to spouses/partners during corporate relocations. She brings a wealth of proven career management experience within for-profit, not-for-profit, and educational settings, as well as strong relationship skills with client organizations and key decision makers.
Prior to her professional career, Bernice was an expatriate spouse and lived abroad in Madagascar, Africa, and the U.A.E. She also relocated domestically to Texas and Oklahoma before settling back in the suburbs of Chicago. Bernice brings global experiences and a strong understanding of the complexities involved in international and U.S. domestic relocations. Her cross-cultural awareness and ability to quickly establish rapport with her clients allows her to effectively address the challenges related to spousal career/life transition. Bernice has a genuine interest in supporting assignees/spouses in navigating career transition and employment opportunities.
Bernice began her professional Career Coaching career in 2001 with a regional outplacement firm in the Chicago area. She worked with mid- and upper- level candidates and groups. Bernice was subsequently recruited as a Placement Specialist to work jointly with the State of Illinois Employment Training Center and Moraine Valley Community College in Chicago’s southern suburbs. Bernice coached over 3,800 traditional and adult students and IETC clients in all areas of job search.
In 2007, Bernice accepted the position of Assistant Director of Employee Relations with the University of Illinois Alumni Association’s Career Center, which serviced one of the largest alumni populations across three campuses (Urbana Champaign, Chicago, and Springfield). Further, she developed and moderated learning and development programs for recruiters throughout the U.S. on sourcing, recruitment, and interviewing practices/trends.
Within four years, Bernice was promoted to Associate Director, with additional responsibility for serving 5,000+ alumni, across job functions and industries. In this role, she developed strategies to advance, change, or transition to global Fortune 500 companies. Furthermore, Bernice engaged and mentored alumni in utilizing social media as optional proactive approaches to marketing themselves to new job/career opportunities.
Bernice received her Master’s Degree in Adult Education from Oklahoma State University and her Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern Illinois University. She is a certified Career Management Coach and a Global Career Development Facilitator. She is also qualified to administer and interpret the MBTI assessment tool.
