In her work with clients, Kim Herrera applies 20 years of coaching and development experience to provide support to mid-career and executive-level professionals seeking to make a significant change in their work lives. She specializes in guiding professionals to identify new career paths, secure internal upward mobility, or refine their leadership style. Her work draws from an appreciative inquiry, strengths-based model of change that is rooted in a results-focused approach.
Her coaching philosophy is simple. She believes each professional is a unique person with a specific set of goals, dreams, experiences, and talents. Kim partners with clients to identify the areas that have helped them get to where they are today and focus on utilizing those skills to get them to where they want to be tomorrow. In coaching engagements, she partners with individuals to identify specific career and leadership priorities and create a customized plan: a ‘roadmap’ to goals that is based on actionable steps that are motivating, challenging, and attainable.
In addition to her work with IMPACT Group and her private practice, Kim’s professional work experience includes prior in-house advisory at Verizon Communications, W. W. Grainger, Kensington International, and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Client industries she specializes in include strategy and Big 4 consulting, boutique and bulge bracket investment banking/financial services, retail, entrepreneurship, and Fortune 100 CPG, manufacturing, and industrials.
She holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Communications from Northwestern University and is a Certified Professional Career Coach (CPCC). She is also a certified practitioner in multiple assessment tools, including the Meyers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Kim is a member of the International Coach Federation and a professional Affiliate of the Institute of Coaching, McLean/Harvard Medical School.
