Patricia Boer (Pat) serves as a Senior Career Coach at IMPACT Group leveraging her 20+ years of career development experience in international relocation and career assessment, exploration, transition, and management services.
Pat graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego, earned a Master of Science in Counseling from Indiana State University, and obtained a Doctorate in Adult Education, with a Cognate in Counseling Psychology, from Ball State University. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of California, a National Certified Career Counselor (NCCC), and a Board Certified Career Coach (BCC).
Her publication, Career Counseling over the Internet, describes her experiences as the first online career counselor, the Career Guru, for the Online Career Center (OCC.com). In its first year, this unique service assisted 1,000+ clients, representing more than 30 countries via remote services. OCC is known today as Monster.com.
As the recipient of national creative programming awards on leadership, career development, and women’s issues, Pat is sought as a public speaker and international presenter. She has delivered papers on Creative Teaching at the Association for Creative Teaching (ACT), in Lucerne, Switzerland; spoken at conferences at the University of Extremadura, Caceres, Spain; and facilitated presentations at the School of Business, Bordeaux, France.
Today, Pat coach clients from diverse industries on career-related issues. She excels at working with professionals in the telecommunications, utilities, insurance, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and not-for-profit industries. Pat has facilitated and managed career transition projects for Verizon, Ball Corporation, State Farm Insurance, Dow Chemical, Eli Lilly, Charles Schwab, and Semper Energy.
Earlier in her career, Pat served as the Director of the Continuing Education Center for Women, a full service career center located at Indiana University Purdue University in Indianapolis. Most recently, she has worked in the Counseling Department at the School for Educational Leadership and Educational Sciences, University of San Diego.
