Yolanda Owens is a career coach, award-winning author, and former corporate recruiter with a passion for helping people succeed. Armed with 20 years of recruiting knowledge and coveted tricks-of-the-trade (which you can find featured in publications like Forbes, The Muse, CBS News, USA Today, and The Huffington Post), she imparts her knowledge of what employers truly seek in potential candidates from a recruiter’s lens. Her non-traditional approach to coaching encourages individuals to think outside the box (and their comfort zones) to better market their skills, attributes, and unique experiences to find professional success. She works with individuals at all stages of their careers, but has a soft spot for helping young professionals, mid-career level candidates, and career transitioners.
Prior to her role at IMPACT Group, Yolanda founded CareerSensei Consulting and authored How to Score a Date with Your Potential Employer. She has also acted as a GPS for professionals navigating recruitment road blocks for over a decade, helping people tweak their resumes for the better since college.
A Western New York native, Yolanda currently lives in the Washington, DC area with her husband and constantly expanding wardrobe. When she’s not coaching or writing, she enjoys traveling, cooking, drawing, painting, fine art, playing the piano, yoga, retail therapy, and all things music.
