Empowering People, Unlocking Potential…It’s What Cynthia Does
Cynthia Bucy has empowered job seekers at all levels and in a variety of industries since 2008. “I love my job because there is no typical day. Each client has a different personality and different needs, so I’m always challenged,” she says. Cynthia serves as a Senior Career Consultant for individuals and families in transition. She specializes in helping people through challenging career changes.
“I utilize the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to assist career changers with analyzing their strengths and transferable skills to reinvent their careers,” says Cynthia. From diverse executives and managers to entrepreneurs and industry professionals, Cynthia has helped them all. “The MBTI is a great way for people to understand what work environments best suit them. They also learn about preferred communication styles in terms of theirs and others.”
A big career change is not easy to make, but Cynthia helps her clients carefully consider their options. “The process takes time. I encourage clients to do a lot of reflecting about what they enjoy and don’t enjoy doing. Once they know what type of work environment they thrive in and what skills they enjoy using, they feel more comfortable exploring what options will allow them to combine the two.”
“This was one of the easiest moves I have made thanks to the relocation benefits my fiance’s company provided. I have relocated four times without assistance. Those moves were much more difficult.”
As a young girl, Cynthia was sure she would grow up to be a horse trainer. Once she got to college, though, she pursued degrees in history and journalism. She later obtained an MS in Management and Administrative Services with a certification in Organizational Development and Change Management. “I saw organizational development and change management as a natural progression from my background in journalism, public relations, and leadership development,” she says. In her home state of Texas, Cynthia is a member of the Dallas / Fort Worth Organizational Development Network.
“I believe the key to unlocking a person’s potential is listening,” says Cynthia. “I encourage all individuals who are navigating a corporate relocation or job change to take one small step at a time so the process won’t seem so overwhelming.” Clients recognize Cynthia for her dynamic personality, open communication style, and commitment. “I appreciated her diligence and willingness to follow up with me while remaining approachable,” says one former client. “She provided me with a lot of information when I need it.”
Outside of the office, Cynthia enjoys talking current events with her husband. “As a history professor, he always has an interesting perspective to share.” She can also be found reading in her garden, planning theme celebrations, and walking her faithful friend, Frankie.
