Empowering people, unlocking potential…it’s what Bud does

A deployment to Germany instilled a love for all things German in IMPACT Group coach, Bud Clarkson. At the age of 19, Bud served three years in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. He returned to the States to finish college, but decided to move back to Germany once he finished with school. He lived there for 15 years, working with a nonprofit organisation that served American military families. Bud loves international travel and has visited 22 countries at the last count!

Bud started working with IMPACT Group in 2006. At that time, he served in the Outplacement Department to assist employees who had been laid off from a large manufacturing company. “Later, I was asked to work in Domestic Relocation, primarily helping spouses/partners with their job search,” says Bud. “Over the years, my role expanded to support families during global relocations.” He was pleased to use his experience living abroad to help others. “I am delighted to work with people coming from other countries into the U.S.” Bud has a B.A. in Communications and an M.A. in Leadership Studies. He also holds the U.S. nationally recognised Board Certified Coach designation. In addition to his work with IMPACT Group, he and his wife, Jeannie (who is a psychologist), operate a multi-staff professional counselling centre in the greater Toledo, Ohio area.

Bud believes the key to unlocking a person’s potential is fearlessness. And he makes sure the families he works with are able to enjoy the adventure of a global relocation by sharing his life and career experiences with them. “I approach each of my clients with respect and a positive regard, an appreciation for their particular strengths, and a genuine interest in their success.” His recipients agree, stating:

“Bud was very supportive and also very patient with me.”
“I would like to thank Mr. Bud for providing all the required support and assistance during my job search. He was an excellent consultant with a very supportive personality. He provided me with information which was quite helpful. I appreciate his dedication towards his job.”
“I would like to thank Bud for his support and guidance. He was very professional and his advice pointed me to the right path through my employment search process. He was always available whenever I needed to speak with him. I would highly recommend Bud as a relocation coach.”

Bud attributes much of his success to his team members at IMPACT Group. He appreciates that his fellow coaches are a very supportive and sharing group of people. “I’ve had the privilege of working with a number of managers, team leaders, and trainers at IMPACT Group who have helped me to continually add skill sets and experiences to my repertoire. I’ve learned from all of them, and whatever success I have enjoyed with IMPACT Group, I owe to my trainers and colleagues.” Bud is committed to continuing to learn and grow to be able to help his clients truly embrace the adventure of their life transitions.

For Bud and Jeannie, life is a journey! “We go tent camping a couple times a year. We have all the gear, though, and a nice air mattress for our giant tent. So it’s not roughing it all that much! We love to camp in the mountains of southeastern Tennessee, usually by a white water river that we can hear flowing by at night.” They are active in their church and have ten grandchildren, all under the age of ten, who keep them very busy!
